Account Executive (Retail) SXM

General Purpose:

The Account Executive – Retail is a member of the Customer Service and Sales team and is responsible for promoting and selling the Bank's consumer products and related services to both existing and prospective clients. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, identifying sales opportunities, and building strong client relationships to support business growth.

 

Key responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, completing administrative and operational tasks, maintaining accurate client records, and conducting timely follow-up on sales leads, service requests, and assigned client accounts, including delinquent accounts where applicable. The Account Executive – Retail is also responsible for meeting individual sales and service targets while contributing to the achievement of the Bank's short- and long-term strategic objectives through proactive client engagement, portfolio management, and adherence to the Bank's policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide comprehensive information and assistance on bank products and services to valued clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Offer tailored solutions, advice, and support to meet clients' specific needs and expectations.
  • Manage and follow up on client portfolios, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and engagement.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling and prospecting.
  • Process and assess new loan requests by credit applications, preparing well-researched proposals for decision-making.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with the credit and collection policies.
  • Open accounts that are associated with credit applications.
  • Can confidently present bank services and products to groups of customers.
  • Follow up with prospects throughout the sales cycle to address their needs and build relationships.
  • Monitor portfolios to maintain acceptable risk levels and safeguard the quality of assets.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to protect the bank's interests.
  • Demonstrate the value of bank products and services to prospective clients.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on missing or outdated documents to maintain compliance with KYC policies and procedures.
  • Handle complaints and negotiations promptly and efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships with external contacts and internal departments to enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure timely completion of tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or at least 5 years of banking experience in the Account Management area.
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive, or similar sales/ customer service role.
  • Able to read and understand financial reports.
  • Basic knowledge in Retail lending.
  • Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of company offerings and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to build relationships.
