General Purpose:
As a Specialist in the Payment Operations Department, you act as an advisor to the Manager, and provide functional and project leadership within the department. You work in close collaboration with the Team Leader, who remains responsible for day-to-day operational execution, to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across the four core teams of Payment Operations:
- Transfers: responsible for handling client transactions.
- Cards: responsible for handling the operations of debit and credit cards.
- Archiving & Services: responsible for handling physical archiving and other supporting services.
- Merchant Services: responsible for onboarding of merchants and providing ongoing support.
Position Highlights:
- Co-develop the Strategic Payment Operations Unit Plan together with the Manager and the Team Leader, incorporating team input.
- Pro-actively provide input to the Payments strategy, innovation agenda and implementation road map created by Payment Strategy & Solutions department.
- Assist Manager driving change in Payment Operations, at Strategic level in line with the Unit Plan and on Tactical/Operational level based on own or reported observations of change opportunities.
- Ensure all processes of Payment Operations are properly documented in work instructions and updated in a timely manner. Write missing work instructions and update existing ones.
- Lead and support continuous process improvement initiatives within Payment Operations, in close collaboration with the Team Leader.
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs for Front liners to enhance operational efficiency.
- Serve as point of contact for the more complex claims and incidents that cannot be solved by the department: coordinate and execute the investigation, communication, correction, reporting, lessons learned, and documentation.
- Lead Payment Operations Projects and initiatives (including project charter, stakeholder assessment and management, scope definition, activities planning, execution, monitoring & reporting, closing and documentation).
- Act as the main point of contact for Bank projects requiring involvement of Payment Operations.
- Establish and maintain MIS reporting for Payment Operations.
- Understand local jurisdictions and international trends and developments regarding Payments markets, products and customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as the interim team leader in absence of the team leader Payment Operations to ensure continuity of daily operations.
- Build and maintain solid relationship within own department, with Payment Strategy & Solutions department, Front liners (including Contact Center), IT, and the rest of the organization. Supports collaboration with Orco Bank.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with the operations contact of key vendors and third parties, such as processors, printers and other systems.
Requirements:
- Higher Education (HBO) with minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in a payment environment or Senior role.
- Knowledge of the banking sector, locally and regionally.
- Pertinent knowledge and experience in the payments industry.
- Experience with transformation programs.
- Knowledge of local jurisdictions and international payment rules and regulations.
